An unnamed little girl relates several ordinary events from her life, mostly revolving around her little sister Sylvie. When The girl does something, Sylvie does it too, but with her own style. For instance, when the narrator is taking ballet lessons and being a swan, Sylvie dances like a duckling. The loving relationship between the two girls is clear throughout the story.
The book features colored illustrations on an uncluttered white background. Each page has an average of two short sentences. There are three short “chapters” that flow from one to another. The illustrations are effective, capturing the expressions on the children’s faces in a very realistic manner.
