Buttercup is a clumsy cow. She trips and falls on all sorts of things, including eggs and pails of milk. Because she’s constantly destroying things, the other animals don’t want her around. Then one night a fox sneaks into the hen house. It’s up to Buttercup to save the day.
This is a very early beginning reader. There is only one sentence on each page, with most sentences less than five words. Phrases and sentences are repeated often. The illustrations are bright and colorful, though they look a bit overdone to me. All of the animals appear to be wearing blush, for instance.
Overall, this book a solid early reader, with simple sentences and a reliance on pictures.
