Written by Ellen Weiss and illustrated by Sam Williams, this book is considered a “Pre-Level 1” in the Ready-to-Read series. There is only one sentence on each page, and the sentences are short, only three to five words. The text rhymes. The illustrations are focused on the children, with the twins and their balloons the only images on a white background. The twins are differentiated by different colored shirts and shoes (and the fact that the red twin appears to be slightly larger than his brother.) The illustrations skillfully capture the surging emotions between the siblings.
